Hearts childrens home recently moved to Juma Kilo village , to get there at kwachocha take a right turn as you are going to st gothard, follow the path straight to kwakabuzi or juma kilo village, right at juma kilo house turn right there is a black gate thats where the kids are. Heart is a charitable children institution that provides temporary shelter for the orphans and vulnerable children (OVCs) while identifying an alternative care plan for every individual child. It was started in 2008 to respond to the increased number of vulnerable children in the community and to improve livelihood of families through the outreach program by supporting poor children from poor backgrounds due to high inflation rates and economic challenges that saw many children joining child labor to assist their parents to sustain their family. The institution has had its main objective of rehabilitating, integrating, and giving basic needs to all children and has been able to successfully reintegrate about 300 children back to their family and society. Its motto is "Integration is the best way forward."

For instance, before admission to Heart Family, food, management, bed size, and quality of the environment are evaluated to determine the level of individual need before a child is admitted. This is also essential in making sure that children do not feel like their choices have been stripped. It also ensures that a comfortable balance is achieved to avoid cases where children would lose their sense of individuality.
From the previous reflection of life in Heart Family, board development team in state, it outlines the need for providing a holistic support structure that ensures that all needs are met at the point of entry into Heart institution. A detailed set of guidelines and basic routines are introduced to the families to allow for easier transition into Heart Children’s Home. While Heart seeks to implement broad activities and activities for the next five years in a 5-year strategic plan.

Carlos was found in October 2012 in the streets looking for food and shelter so he could survive. The repost was made by a boda boda driver who saw Carlos walking around by himself. he was taking to the police staGon in Malindi and from there he came to our center. AIer the mother noGced that we took care of him he also brought her other son to the center.

The parents of Peterson passed away the child is staying with the grandparents which can´t take good care of him. He likes playing football and watching cartoons

Joseph was brought to our center through the police because he was abandoned at the Beach. Up to now we don´t know the parents of Joseph. Joseph will be joining school next year
